Miss. Anastasia

New Director of Westbrook Dance Academy

Anastasia Maingot began her dance training at the age of three in central Florida. She has studied in many aspects of dance, jazz, ballet, tap, lyrical, hip hop, modern and competitive dance team high kick and pom.  While growing up Anastasia was inducted into her high school dance hall of fame, performer for Champs Bowl games, Disney Parades, back up dancer for artist Grace Kelli, and a member of Rukus dance team at the University of Central Florida. Creating dance choreography was a passion that started as a young child for Anastasia. Her passion continued after high school where she began teaching at Westbrook Dance Academy for 7 years before moving to Hawaii. Anastasia trained kids ranging in ages 4 to 18 and levels from recreational to competitive dance.  During her time there she choreographed and taught many routines that won Double Platinum and choreography awards in the Lyrical, Jazz and Hip Hop category. She also has worked with local high school dance teams such as the Lake Mary Marionettes who hold many national titles.  Anastasia was blessed with the opportunity to move to Oahu to continue training and working at Impact Dance Hawaii under the direction of Marika Caron while also taking classes at Honolulu Dance Studio and Ballet Hawaii. She worked as both the resident hip hop instructor and one of the competition team coaches. After moving back to Central Florida, Anastasia established a dance program at a local Magnet Middle School in Seminole County where she is currently the dance director. She also led the Bishop Moore High School Dance Team in Orlando has head dance coach for 3 seasons. Anastasia is incredibly excited for the opportunity to take over Westbrook Dance Academy and will be the new director and owner going forth for the new 2019-2020 dance season. Her passion for teaching and coaching comes from the joy she receives from watching her students grow into beautiful dancers and knowing that she was blessed to be a part of their journey. Helping give someone the opportunity to open up, step out of the box, and embrace the world of dance is a gift Anastasia hopes to forever continue.

“Great dancers are not great because of their technique; they are great because of their passion.”

Miss. Kristen

Instructor and Choreographer

Kristen began her dance journey when she was three years old at Westbrook Dance Academy, partaking in pre-k tap and ballet classes. She was apart of the first youngest group Julie Westrbook Smith took to Showstoppers dance competition. After two years of competitive dancing Kristen stepped back from the dance spotlight to pursue other hobbies like gymnastics, basketball, and swimming, but eventually her heart came back to dance. In 2012 Kristen went back to dancing and had to start at the bottom of the totem pole after losing three years of training, but she quickly rose to the challenge and was able to push herself to leap higher, turn longer, and most importantly improve technique. Throughout her highschool career Kristen danced under the direction of Stephanie Kersten at Lake Mary High School in her elite dance class. Kristen choreographed multiple dances for her fellow peers and solos for herself, including the genres of ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. Along with dancing at school she also attended classes at Westbrook Dance Academy for their company team and was given the opportunity to assist in creative movement and Pre-K classes. At this time in her life Kristen knew she wanted to be a teacher. In 2017 Kristen graduated from Lake Mary High School and went on to pursue her teaching dreams, she was offered a job to teach at WDA and is now beginning her third year of teaching while attending the University of Central Florida to earn her Bachelors in Elementary Education. Kristen loves her WDA family and is so excited to see where this new year takes us!
